Passions Explored
I was a corporate training director for nearly a decade. I was, and still am, passionate about meeting the needs of adult learners by developing and delivering fun, interactive, practical, and experiential workshops; the antidote to boring PowerPoint lectures.
I took a break from corporate life to explore another passion, health and fitness. I became a personal trainer and massage therapist, then later a registered nurse. That decade-long journey began in behavioral health and I ultimately worked as a care manager, utilizing techniques in Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help patients take steps that align with their health goals. MI became yet another passion.
Passions United
As Health Coach, all my passions have come together. I utilize MI when I help individuals reach their health goals and I help other healthcare professionals acquire MI skills in a workshop that is fun, interactive, practical, and experiential.
Education
I have a master's in education (adult learning and technology) from Western Governors University. I have a bachelor's in nursing from University of Texas at Arlington.
Personal
I'm originally from the east coast, born in Florida and raised in Massachusetts and New Jersey. I later moved to southern California where I met my spouse. We are both animal lovers and have rescued quite a few. I'm always pushing myself to work out and eat better in pursuit of my own health and wellness goals, so sometimes I practice MI on myself!
